The client’s first priority was to interpret their image into actual space.By getting inspiration from their street style and strong personalities,I designed a simple and colourless space in order to emphasise their image.

Since the budget was tight, I utilised the existing wall, floor and air conditioning as part of design.I also applied irregular patterns to the wall as a design essence.By showing lighting, ceiling, a duct and an air conditioning pipe as they were,I turned original space into an inorganic yet lively hair salon – like a factory.

As opposed to interiors, I focused on creating a welcome entrance for everyone without sticking to client’s image. For the signboard, I used dark grey as a key colour. To attract attention from the outside,I installed a small garden to the window from which people can glimpse interiors and enjoy the contrast between organic and inorgance space.

In this project, the part in which I put a great deal of effort was to create a comfortable space for customers.I secured a waiting space as large as possible and installed a counter to help communication between customers and staff. This counter can also be used as a bar.

As for the shampoo booth, I applied a white wall to divide space completely and keep customers’ privacy.
